RASCAL Inc. was founded in the late sixties by Residents and Sisters of Canberra Hospital, hence the name RASCAL - Residents And Sisters Club for Activities in Leisuretime. 

Membership has long been open to the public, from whom enquiries are actively encouraged. RASCAL is a non-profit body incorporated under ACT legislation and is managed by a volunteer Committee elected by members on an annual basis. The Club owns and operates RASCAL Lodge, which is located on the shores of Lake Jindabyne in the Snowy Mountains region of NSW, Australia. The Lodge is a five-minute walk from the Jindabyne town centre. 

The Lodge was opened in 1970. It has absolute and uninterrupted frontage to Lake Jindabyne and is built on three levels.  

Rascal has a continuous program to upgrade and extend Lodge facilities. 

The bottom level has three rooms sleeping two in bunks, two rooms sleeping four in bunks and a communal bathroom.  

Three bedrooms in the middle level were refurbished in 2015. The largest features a queen sized bed. One refurbished room has a single bed and the other two single beds. The middle level also houses a four bunk bed room, a communal bathroom, a laundry, a drying room and an entrance foyer with ski preparation and lockable ski and snow board storage racks. 

The upper level includes the kitchen and dining area, a lounge area and a new large outside deck overlooking the Lake. 

All bedrooms have independent electric panel heating and the kitchen/dining/lounge level (top level) has two reverse cycle air conditioners (installed 2015).  

The kitchen was fully refurbished in late 1998 and includes a conventional oven and grill, two microwave ovens, one commercial and one large domestic refrigerators, large individual pantry drawers, all cooking, eating and cleaning utensils.  

A full-length external deck with sail shades and overlooking the lake was constructed in 2000. There is a gas BBQ one on the sail shaded deck overlooking Lake Jindabyne.  

External window shades were installed in the top level in 2010. A large lockable shed is available for member use during their stay for the storage of bicycles, kayaks and the like.  

Members using the Lodge only have to provide their own sheets, pillowcases, personal bathroom items and food.
